POLITICIANS IN JAIL/UNDER ARREST/UNDER PREVENTIVE CUSTODY CAN CONTEST ELECTIONS - SUPREME COURT

THE AMENDMENTS MADE BY THE GOVERNMENT IN REPRESENTATION OF PEOPLE ACT PERMITTING THOSE UNDER ARREST, POLICE CUSTODY AND IN JAILS CAN CONTEST ELECTIONS HAS DEMOLISHED THE DEMOCRATIC SET UP THE NATION.

THE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA HAS `VETOED` THE GOVERNMENTS AMENDMENT.

IT IS A BLOW TO THE DEMOCRATIC SET UP AND FOR THE NATION.
