NATION BEFORE HONOUR- AISHWARYA RAI BACHAN - BEAUTY OF CHARACTER

An event was organised on the eve of the National Day of France, Aishwarya Rai Bachan accept the special honour of L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres ( Order of Arts and Letters) from French ambassador Jérôme Bonnafont. In the wake of the Mumbai blasts, she refused to accept the honour and requested the French ambassador to postpone the ceremony. 

She said “I am shocked and saddened by the news of the blasts. It’s disturbing.  This is not a moment of celebrations or conferring of awards. My family and I would like to request Mr Bonnafont to postpone the event. “At the moment, we extend our support (to the victims) and we shall stand strong.

"This is the time to show the true Indian spirit.”
